“She is not a puzzle to be solved, but a poem to be felt – line by unpredictable line.” – MJ Martin

A tribute to my amazing Mother, Sarah Brigid Martin / Kellogg (nee Walsh) – Born April 3, 1923, Died May 14, 2011. We are all still missing her every day.

She is the question the world keeps asking but never fully answers.

She can disarm with laughter or shatter silence with a glance.

At times, she is elegance wrapped in a whisper, and in others, she is chaos wearing perfume.

Her presence fills the room as though it had waited its whole life for her to arrive.

People try to define her – by what she does, how she loves, or what she chooses to reveal – but she remains beyond capture, existing as a living contradiction.

She may bring joy as bright as spring, or sadness that lingers like the last note of a fading song.

With her, one is never certain whether they are walking into sunlight or shadow.

And yet, the not-knowing becomes the very reason to stay, to wonder, to dream.

For all her complexities, she is the singular truth that makes everything else worth enduring.

To know her is not to understand her, but to be changed by her, in ways only the heart can measure.
